New Roads Chiropractic Center Knows Anatomy Well, Knows Your Spine Well

Your New Roads chiropractor understands your spine! New Roads Chiropractic Center understands anatomy. Back in chiropractic school, your chiropractor learned much about anatomy of the spine and utilizes that knowledge every day. Knowledge of the spine’s anatomy is always at the forefront of your chiropractor’s mind as you and each spine pain, neck pain, back pain patient comes through the door! It is so exciting! (Are you not you glad someone finds it exciting?)

LEARNING ANATOMY IN SCHOOL

Going through school, we were all guilty of learning only to pass an exam. When in professional school, such learning is more vital than ever since it will affect everyday work. (How much do you remember from your high school or college days?) An international survey of chiropractors and anatomists discovered that chiropractors felt that a higher level of anatomy teaching during chiropractic school was beneficial for clinical practice, permitting better understanding, application, and analysis of anatomical information to justify a clinical decision in their daily clinical practice. (1) An Australian report of chiropractors compared their knowledge of anatomy to that of chiropractic students. The chiropractic practitioners reported that they knew their anatomy and proved it by taking a test of their knowledge. This was compared to the same in their chiropractic student counterparts. The chiropractors showed that they kept their knowledge of anatomy - and knew they did! – contradicting the hypothesis that chiropractic practitioners may not keep it after school. Knowledge of anatomy is used daily in chiropractic practice, and chiropractors know their anatomy. (2) Your New Roads chiropractor does! Just ask to find out more.

SPINAL ANATOMY KNOWLEDGE PUT TO USE IN CHIROPRACTIC CLINICAL PRACTICE

Performing spinal manipulation every day utilizes knowledge of the spine’s anatomy every day. The most ordinary reasons people reported seeking chiropractic care were low back pain (49.7%), neck pain (22.5%), and extremity issues (10.0%). The most common treatment they experienced were spinal manipulation (79.3%), soft tissue therapy (35.1%), and formal patient education (31.3%). (3) Spinal conditions get a lot of attention from chiropractic patients and their chiropractors, of course! But fortunate side effects of chiropractic care emerge in the medical literature as well like potential cardiovascular benefit. In a placebo-controlled, assessor-blinded, randomized trial, researchers described the immediate effects of upper thoracic spine manual therapy on cardiovascular autonomic control of musculoskeletal pain patients (ie, back pain, spine pain, neck pain, etc.). The researchers explained that musculoskeletal pain intensified the risk of cardiovascular events. (4) Come experience these benefits of chiropractic treatment based on knowledge of the spine’s anatomy.
