New Roads Chiropractic Care for Work-Related Musculoskeletal Pain

Work. We all must do it. Everyone’s job requires posture(s) that may trigger pain at one point or another. New Roads Chiropractic Center sees the pain! Quite a few New Roads back pain and neck pain patients who come to chiropractic share stories of work-related pain. We can help!

New Roads Chiropractic Center is poised in its skill to relieve and manage work-related musculoskeletal pain for our New Roads chiropractic patients. Not too startling, 81.7% of office workers in one study had musculoskeletal pain in at least one area. Back pain was the most frequently experienced pain for 54.8%. Neck and shoulder pain were after that. Interestingly, musculoskeletal system pain was seen as high in office workers whose physical activity levels were reported as low. 58.5% of these workers reported being “active” physically, 37.3% were less active, 4.1% were very active. (1) Research shows that in-the-workplace exercise interventions were effective in addressing musculoskeletal disorders and in reducing pain for office workers. (2) New Roads Chiropractic Center welcomes the optimism this brings for our New Roads back and neck pain patients!

New Roads Chiropractic Center treats work-related pain within the guidelines of The Cox® Technic System of Spinal Pain Management which incorporates gentle spinal manipulation alongside exercise, nutrition and other advice.  We appreciate researchers’ description of work-related musculoskeletal pain disorders as those painful conditions brought on by inadequate usage of the musculoskeletal system during work. Exercise, education, ergonomic direction, massage are pretty typical ways of dealing with and trying to prevent pain. Most recommendations like this were for workers to do outside of the workplace. Recently, researchers proposed the value of specific, individualized, resistance strengthening exercises in the workplace to decrease pain, fatigue, and discomfort in worker’s upper extremities and neck. (3) That’s a good idea. New Roads Chiropractic Center sees the benefit of taking care of oneself at home and in the workplace!
