“An apple a day…” Everyone can complete that saying!
Access to chiropractic and spinal manipulation for New Roads back pain
and neck pain sufferers is said to do the same. Access
just needs to be as easy as access to apples! According
to research, chiropractic and spinal manipulation ease pain and lessen
the need for escalated treatments and tests when they are easily accessible
to neck and back pain sufferers. (Even dogs benefited
from veterinary chiropractic spinal manipulation!) New Roads Chiropractic Center presents
gentle spinal manipulation via a well-explained chiropractic treatment
plan.
CHIROPRACTIC CARE AND SPINAL MANIPULATION AND BACK PAIN
MANAGEMENT
Spinal manipulation is a primary treatment at
New Roads Chiropractic Center for good reason! A rat study regarding the
effect of manipulation and mobilization and sham treatment on lessening
neuroinflammation in acute lumbar radiculopathy (leg pain) showed
that manipulation and mobilization resulted in more pain relief. Manipulation was a little quicker
in providing relief and halting severe
radiculopathy. (1) Spinal manipulation and mobilization are prominent
treatments at New Roads Chiropractic Center for back pain and radiculopathy. We’re
here for you as soon as you bring your back pain and/or leg pain to us!
New Roads Chiropractic Center also knows
that our New Roads chiropractic patients are eager
to receive in-office care but not always as eager to do
their at-home care. They are not alone! 89% of chiropractic
patients told researcher they went to their
appointments. That is the easier part! 82% said their chiropractor’s
recommendations for treatment and at-home care (stretching and exercise) made sense, but only 44% of them actually did the at-home care. (2) We know it is tough to make
time at home, and we’ll keep doing our best at
every visit to manage your spinal condition…and supportively
remind you to do yours!
SPINAL MANIPULATION AND ACCESS TO CHIROPRACTIC LESSENED
NEED FOR MORE ADVANCED CARE
Researchers wondered just how access
to chiropractic influenced medical care for older adults with spinal pain. In an analysis
of Medicare claims for 39,278 older adult chiropractic users, less
access to chiropractic care expanded the use of medical
services (primary care physician visits and spine surgeries) for spine pain conditions.
The researchers equated this to an additional cost of $114,967
per 1000 beneficiaries ($391 million nationally). (3) That’s a
lot of money and suffering. New Roads Chiropractic Center makes itself accessible
to our New Roads spine pain sufferers! Additionally, 42%
of neck pain patients receive escalated
treatments like imaging, injection, emergency room, surgery. Neck pain patients
managed with spinal manipulation – 90% of which is done
by chiropractors in the US – were less likely to undergo escalated care. Only 26% of spinal manipulation patients went
on to escalated care whereas 46% of neck pain sufferers who sought
other types of care did. They
were at twice the risk of treatment escalation. (4) New Roads Chiropractic Center delivers
spinal manipulation. Your New Roads chiropractor is experienced
in delivering safe, gentle, relieving spinal manipulation.
EVEN DOGS BENEFIT FROM CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENT
There are chiropractic colleagues who also are skilled at doing spinal manipulation on animals! Interesting!
Some dog breeds like boxers have a tendency to develop
spondylosis deformans, a spinal disease noted by disc
degeneration and bone spurs. One study of boxer puppies from 8 weeks old to one year of age compared puppies treated with
veterinary chiropractic monthly to same aged boxers not
treated with chiropractic. At one year of age, the treated
puppies had spondylosis significantly
less (only 25% were found to have it on imaging) versus the
control puppies (46.5% had it on imaging). This suggests that
veterinary chiropractic treatment may beneficially reduce
the probably of young boxers acquiring spondylosis. (5)
Our New Roads furry companions are helped with chiropractic
treatment, too!
